Sultan Said bin Taimur
Sultan Said bin Taimur was the ruler of Oman from 1932 until 1970. He was known for his conservative policies and resistance to modernization, which led to a largely isolated and traditional society during his reign. His leadership style was characterized by a strong emphasis on maintaining the status quo and preserving Omani culture.
In 1970, Sultan Said was overthrown in a coup led by his son, Sultan Qaboos bin Said. This change marked a significant shift in Oman's direction, as Sultan Qaboos initiated modernization efforts and opened the country to the outside world, transforming it into a more progressive nation.
