Sultan Haitham bin Tariq
Sultan Haitham bin Tariq is the current ruler of Oman, having ascended to the throne on January 11, 2020, following the death of his cousin, Sultan Qaboos bin Said. He was born on October 13, 1954, and previously served as the Minister of Heritage and Culture, where he focused on preserving Oman's rich history and promoting its cultural heritage.
Under his leadership, Sultan Haitham has emphasized economic diversification and modernization, aiming to reduce Oman's dependence on oil revenues. He has also initiated reforms in various sectors, including education and tourism, to enhance the country's development and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
