Suckers
Suckers are a type of fish belonging to the family Catostomidae. They are commonly found in freshwater rivers and lakes across North America. Suckers are known for their distinctive, fleshy lips, which they use to feed on algae, detritus, and small invertebrates on the riverbed.
There are several species of suckers, including the White Sucker and the Longnose Sucker. These fish can vary in size, with some species growing up to 30 inches long. Suckers play an important role in their ecosystems by helping to maintain the health of aquatic habitats through their feeding habits.
