Styrax
Styrax is a genus of flowering plants in the family Styracaceae. It includes about 100 species, commonly known for their fragrant flowers and resin. These plants are typically found in temperate and tropical regions, thriving in well-drained soils.
The resin produced by some Styrax species, known as benzoin, is used in perfumes, incense, and traditional medicine. The trees can vary in size, with some growing as small shrubs while others reach heights of up to 30 meters. Their attractive foliage and flowers make them popular in ornamental gardening.
