Steyr AUG
The Steyr AUG is a bullpup assault rifle designed and manufactured by the Austrian company Steyr Mannlicher. Introduced in the 1970s, it features a compact design with the action and magazine located behind the trigger, allowing for a shorter overall length without sacrificing barrel length. The AUG is known for its modularity, enabling users to easily switch between different configurations, such as standard rifle, carbine, or designated marksman rifle.
The rifle is chambered for the 5.56×45mm NATO cartridge and is equipped with a unique integrated optical sight. Its lightweight construction and ergonomic design make it popular among military and law enforcement agencies worldwide. The AUG has been adopted by several countries and remains a notable example of modern firearm design.
