Stephen the Great
Stephen the Great was a ruler of Moldavia from 1457 to 1504. He is known for his strong leadership and military skills, successfully defending his territory against various invasions, including those from the Ottoman Empire. His reign is often marked by efforts to strengthen the state and promote Christianity.
Stephen is also recognized for his contributions to culture and architecture. He built numerous churches and monasteries, many of which are now UNESCO World Heritage sites. His legacy continues to be celebrated in Romania and Moldavia, where he is regarded as a national hero.
