Stephen The Great
Stephen the Great, also known as Stephen III of Moldavia, was a ruler who reigned from 1457 to 1504. He is celebrated for his military prowess and successful defense of his principality against the Ottoman Empire. His leadership helped to strengthen the region and maintain its independence during a time of significant external threats.
Stephen was also a patron of the arts and religion, commissioning numerous churches and monasteries, many of which still stand today. His legacy is honored in Romania and Moldova, where he is remembered as a national hero and a symbol of resistance against foreign domination.
