Stephen King's "It" is a horror novel published in 1986. The story revolves around a group of children in the fictional town of Derry, Maine, who face a malevolent entity that often takes the form of a clown named Pennywise. The narrative alternates between their childhood encounters with this creature and their return as adults to confront it again.
