Staten-Generaal
The Staten-Generaal is the bicameral legislature of the Netherlands, consisting of two chambers: the Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) and the Eerste Kamer (Senate). The Tweede Kamer has 150 members who are directly elected by the public, while the Eerste Kamer has 75 members who are appointed by the provincial legislatures.
The primary role of the Staten-Generaal is to create and pass laws, oversee the government, and represent the interests of the Dutch citizens. It also plays a crucial role in the budget process and can influence government policy through debates and inquiries.
