Eerste Kamer
The Eerste Kamer, or First Chamber, is the upper house of the Dutch Parliament. It consists of 75 members who are indirectly elected by the members of the provincial legislatures. The primary role of the Eerste Kamer is to review and approve or reject legislation proposed by the lower house, known as the Tweede Kamer.
Members of the Eerste Kamer serve a term of four years and can be re-elected. This chamber does not have the power to amend legislation but can only accept or reject it. The Eerste Kamer plays a crucial role in ensuring that laws are thoroughly examined before becoming official.
