State Disaster Response Force (SDRF)
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is a specialized unit established by state governments in India to manage and respond to natural and man-made disasters. Its primary role is to provide immediate assistance during emergencies, such as floods, earthquakes, and industrial accidents. The SDRF is trained in various rescue and relief operations, ensuring that affected communities receive timely support.
Each state has its own SDRF, which operates under the guidance of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The force collaborates with other agencies, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), to enhance disaster preparedness and response capabilities across the country.
