National Disaster Response Force
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is an Indian specialized force established to respond to natural and man-made disasters. Formed in 2006, it operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs and is tasked with providing immediate assistance during emergencies such as floods, earthquakes, and chemical accidents. The NDRF consists of multiple battalions, each trained in various disaster management techniques.
The primary role of the NDRF is to conduct search and rescue operations, provide medical aid, and assist in rehabilitation efforts. The force collaborates with local authorities, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and other agencies to ensure effective disaster management and minimize loss of life and property.
