State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television
The State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT) was a regulatory body in the People's Republic of China responsible for overseeing the country's broadcasting and film industries. Established in 1998, it aimed to manage the development and distribution of radio, television, and film content, ensuring that it aligned with government policies and cultural values.
In 2018, SARFT was merged into the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), which continues to regulate these sectors. The NRTA focuses on promoting the growth of media while maintaining control over content to reflect the interests of the state and society.
