Stanley Matthews
Stanley Matthews was an English professional footballer, widely regarded as one of the greatest wingers in the history of the sport. Born on February 1, 1915, in Stoke-on-Trent, he began his career with Stoke City in 1932 and later played for Blackpool. Matthews was known for his exceptional dribbling skills, speed, and sportsmanship.
He had a remarkable career that spanned over three decades, playing his last professional match at the age of 50. Matthews was the first recipient of the Ballon d'Or in 1956 and earned 54 caps for the England national team. He passed away on February 23, 2000.
