Stanislaus of Szczepanów
Stanislaus of Szczepanów was a Polish bishop and martyr, born around 1030 in Szczepanów, Poland. He is best known for his strong opposition to the immoral behavior of King Bolesław II, which ultimately led to his martyrdom in 1079. Stanislaus was canonized by the Catholic Church and is considered the patron saint of Poland.
His feast day is celebrated on April 11, and he is often depicted in art holding a cross or a model of a church. Stanislaus is also recognized for his role in promoting the Christian faith in Poland during a time of political turmoil and conflict.
