Stabilators
A stabilator is a type of aircraft control surface that combines the functions of an elevator and a horizontal stabilizer. It is a movable surface located at the tail of the aircraft, allowing for pitch control. By adjusting the angle of the stabilator, pilots can effectively manage the aircraft's ascent and descent.
Stabilators are often found on modern fighter jets and some general aviation aircraft. They provide improved aerodynamic efficiency and responsiveness compared to traditional elevators. This design helps enhance maneuverability, making it easier for pilots to control the aircraft during various flight conditions.
