St. William of Perth
St. William of Perth was a 12th-century English saint known for his pious life and charitable works. He was born in Perth, Scotland and became a successful merchant. After a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, he dedicated his life to helping the poor and building hospitals.
William was murdered while traveling to Canterbury in 1201, and his body was buried in the Cathedral of Canterbury. His grave became a site of pilgrimage, and he was canonized by the Catholic Church. His feast day is celebrated on May 8, honoring his legacy of compassion and service.
