St. Teresa of Calcutta
St. Teresa of Calcutta, also known as Mother Teresa, was a Roman Catholic nun and missionary born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje, now part of North Macedonia. She dedicated her life to serving the poor and sick, founding the Missionaries of Charity in 1950, which focused on helping those in need around the world.
Her work earned her numerous awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. St. Teresa was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church on September 4, 2016, recognizing her lifelong commitment to compassion and humanitarian efforts.
