St. Rupert of Salzburg
St. Rupert of Salzburg was a Christian missionary and the founder of the city of Salzburg in Austria. He is known for his efforts to spread Christianity in the region during the 7th century. Rupert established a monastery on the site of what is now St. Peter's Abbey, which became a center for religious and cultural life.
Rupert is often referred to as the "Apostle of Austria" due to his significant role in converting the local population to Christianity. His feast day is celebrated on September 24, and he is recognized as the patron saint of Salzburg and the Archdiocese of Salzburg.
