St. Ninian
St. Ninian was a Christian missionary and the first saint of Scotland. He is believed to have lived during the 4th or 5th century and is known for spreading Christianity among the Picts, a group of Celtic tribes in northern Britain. Ninian established a church at Whithorn, which became a significant center for early Christianity in the region.
Ninian is often depicted as a figure of peace and unity, bridging the gap between the pagan beliefs of the Picts and the new Christian faith. His legacy is celebrated in various places, and he is recognized as the patron saint of Galloway.
