St. Mary Magdalene
St. Mary Magdalene is a significant figure in the New Testament of the Bible. She is often recognized as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and is mentioned in all four Gospels. Traditionally, she is believed to have been present at the crucifixion and was the first to witness the resurrection of Jesus, making her an important symbol of faith and redemption.
Mary Magdalene is sometimes mistakenly conflated with other biblical women, such as Mary of Bethany or the unnamed sinful woman in Luke 7:36-50. In Christian tradition, she is often depicted as a repentant sinner, but many scholars argue that there is no biblical basis for this characterization. Instead, she is celebrated for her role as a witness to the resurrection and a leader among early Christians.
