St. Blaze
St. Blaze, also known as Saint Blaise, is a Christian martyr and bishop from the 4th century. He is celebrated for his healing miracles, particularly for curing a boy who was choking on a fish bone. His feast day is observed on February 3rd, and he is the patron saint of throat ailments.
In many Christian traditions, especially within the Catholic Church, a special blessing of throats is performed on his feast day. This ritual often involves the use of candles, symbolizing the light of faith and healing. St. Blaze is also associated with the protection of animals, particularly domestic animals.
