St. Ansgar
St. Ansgar, also known as the "Apostle of the North," was a Christian missionary born in 801 AD in France. He is best known for his efforts to spread Christianity in Scandinavia, particularly in Denmark and Sweden. Ansgar established the first Christian church in Sweden and worked to convert the local populations, facing various challenges during his mission.
Ansgar became the first Archbishop of Hamburg-Bremen and played a significant role in the early church's expansion in Northern Europe. He is venerated as a saint in both the Roman Catholic Church and the Lutheran Church, with his feast day celebrated on February 3rd.
