St. Aloysius Gonzaga
St. Aloysius Gonzaga was an Italian Jesuit saint born on March 9, 1568. He is known for his deep spirituality and commitment to serving others, particularly the sick and the poor. Aloysius entered the Society of Jesus, or the Jesuits, at a young age and dedicated his life to education and religious service.
He is often remembered for his compassion during the plague outbreak in Rome, where he cared for the afflicted. Aloysius Gonzaga died on June 21, 1591, at the age of 23. He was canonized as a saint by Pope Benedict XIII in 1726 and is the patron saint of youth and students.
