Srinivasan Ramanujan
Srinivasan Ramanujan was an Indian mathematician born on December 22, 1887, in Erode, India. He showed extraordinary mathematical talent from a young age, developing original theories and formulas, particularly in number theory, continued fractions, and infinite series. Despite limited formal training, his work gained recognition for its depth and creativity.
In 1913, Ramanujan sent a letter to the renowned mathematician G.H. Hardy in England, which led to a collaboration that significantly advanced his career. He spent several years at Cambridge University, where he produced groundbreaking results. Ramanujan passed away on April 26, 1920, but his contributions continue to influence mathematics today.
