Sri Pada
Sri Pada, also known as Adam's Peak, is a prominent mountain located in Sri Lanka. It stands at 2,243 meters (7,358 feet) and is famous for its distinctive conical shape. The mountain is a significant pilgrimage site for followers of various religions, including Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity. At the summit, there is a rock formation that resembles a footprint, believed by many to be that of Buddha, Shiva, or Adam.
The journey to the top of Sri Pada involves a challenging hike, with several well-marked trails. Pilgrims and tourists often undertake the climb during the pilgrimage season, which typically runs from December to May.
