Sri Aurobindo
Sri Aurobindo was an Indian philosopher, yogi, and nationalist born on August 15, 1872. He played a significant role in the Indian independence movement and later turned his focus to spiritual development. His writings explore the integration of spirituality and life, emphasizing the evolution of human consciousness.
In addition to his political activism, Sri Aurobindo developed a spiritual practice known as Integral Yoga, which aims to transform human nature and achieve a higher state of consciousness. He founded the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, where he and his followers pursued spiritual growth and community living until his passing in 1950.
