Speech Language Pathologist
A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is a trained professional who helps individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. They assess, diagnose, and treat various speech and language issues, such as stuttering, articulation problems, and language delays. SLPs work with people of all ages, from children to the elderly, in various settings like schools, hospitals, and private practices.
In addition to speech and language therapy, SLPs also address cognitive-communication disorders, which can affect memory and problem-solving skills. They often collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, doctors, and occupational therapists, to create comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs.
