Spasm
A spasm is an involuntary contraction of a muscle or group of muscles. This sudden tightening can cause discomfort or pain and may occur in various parts of the body, such as the back, legs, or neck. Spasms can be triggered by factors like dehydration, overexertion, or stress.
There are different types of spasms, including muscle cramps and spasmodic movements. While most spasms are temporary and resolve on their own, persistent spasms may require medical attention. Treatments can include stretching, hydration, and in some cases, medications to relax the muscles or address underlying conditions.
