Spartacus League
The Spartacus League was a revolutionary socialist organization in Germany, founded in 1916 during World War I. It aimed to promote workers' rights and oppose the war, advocating for a socialist revolution. The league was named after the Roman gladiator Spartacus, symbolizing the fight against oppression.
Key figures in the Spartacus League included Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht, who were influential in the German socialist movement. The league later became part of the German Communist Party (KPD) in 1918, playing a significant role in the post-war revolutionary movements in Germany.
