Spanda Karikas
The Spanda Karikas is a foundational text in the philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism, a school of thought within Hinduism. Composed by the sage Vasugupta in the 9th century, it explores the concept of spanda, or the vibrational energy of consciousness. The text emphasizes the idea that the ultimate reality is a dynamic, living force that permeates all existence.
The work consists of 40 verses that delve into the nature of the self, the universe, and the relationship between them. It teaches that through self-awareness and meditation, individuals can experience the divine essence within themselves, leading to spiritual liberation and unity with the cosmos.
