Soviet-era buildings
Soviet-era buildings are structures constructed during the time of the Soviet Union, from the 1920s to the 1990s. These buildings often feature a mix of Constructivist and Brutalist architectural styles, characterized by their functional design, large concrete forms, and minimal ornamentation. They were built to accommodate the needs of a growing urban population and reflect the ideals of the communist regime.
Many Soviet-era buildings include residential blocks, government offices, and cultural institutions. Common features include high ceilings, spacious layouts, and utilitarian aesthetics. While some of these structures are now seen as historical landmarks, others face challenges such as neglect and modernization pressures.
