Southern Military District
The Southern Military District is one of the five military districts of the Russian Armed Forces. Established in 2010, it is responsible for military operations in the southern regions of Russia, including parts of the North Caucasus and the Black Sea. The district plays a crucial role in ensuring national security and conducting military exercises.
Headquartered in Rostov-on-Don, the Southern Military District oversees various military units, including ground forces, air defense, and naval components. It also collaborates with other military districts and international partners for joint exercises and operations, enhancing regional stability and defense readiness.
