South American Rugby Confederation
The South American Rugby Confederation (SARU) is the governing body for rugby union in South America. Established in 2010, it oversees the development and promotion of the sport across the continent. SARU organizes competitions, including the South American Rugby Championship, and works to enhance the performance of national teams.
SARU is responsible for the administration of rugby in several countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay. The confederation aims to increase participation in rugby and improve the quality of play through coaching programs and grassroots initiatives. It also collaborates with the World Rugby organization to align with international standards.
