South American Geography
South America is the fourth largest continent, located primarily in the Southern Hemisphere. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The continent features diverse landscapes, including the Amazon Rainforest, the Andes Mountains, and vast plains known as the Pampas.
The Amazon River, one of the longest rivers in the world, flows through northern South America, providing vital ecosystems. Countries like Brazil, Argentina, and Chile showcase a variety of climates, from tropical in the north to temperate in the south, contributing to the continent's rich biodiversity.
