South American Club Competitions
South American club competitions primarily include the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana. The Copa Libertadores is the most prestigious tournament, featuring top clubs from across South America, competing for the title since 1960. It is similar to the UEFA Champions League in Europe and showcases the best talent in the region.
The Copa Sudamericana is the second-tier competition, established in 2002, and includes clubs that did not qualify for the Libertadores. Both tournaments are organized by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) and play a crucial role in promoting football in South America.
