Sources of Islamic Law
The primary sources of Islamic law, known as Sharia, are the Quran and the Hadith. The Quran is the holy book of Islam, believed to be the word of Allah as revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. The Hadith consists of the sayings and actions of the Prophet, providing context and guidance for interpreting the Quran.
In addition to these primary sources, there are secondary sources such as Ijma (consensus among scholars) and Qiyas (analogical reasoning). These sources help address new issues and situations that arise, ensuring that Islamic law remains relevant and applicable to contemporary life.
