Solar Telescopes
Solar telescopes are specialized instruments designed to observe the Sun. Unlike regular telescopes, they use specific filters to block out most sunlight, allowing only certain wavelengths to pass through. This enables astronomers to study solar phenomena such as sunspots, solar flares, and prominences without damaging their equipment or harming their eyes.
These telescopes can be ground-based or space-based. Ground-based solar telescopes, like the Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope, are equipped with advanced optics and adaptive optics systems to reduce atmospheric distortion. Space-based solar telescopes, such as the Solar Dynamics Observatory, provide a clear view of the Sun without interference from Earth's atmosphere.
