Snowy Plover
The Snowy Plover is a small shorebird known for its pale, sandy-colored plumage, which helps it blend into its coastal habitat. Typically measuring about 6 to 7 inches in length, this bird has a short, stubby bill and long legs, making it well-adapted for life on sandy beaches and shorelines.
These plovers are often found along the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Gulf of Mexico coasts in North America. They primarily feed on small invertebrates, such as insects and crustaceans, which they find by foraging in the sand. The Snowy Plover is considered a threatened species in some areas due to habitat loss and human disturbance.
