Snowtown murders
The Snowtown murders were a series of homicides that took place in Australia during the 1990s. The crimes were committed by a group led by John Bunting, who, along with his accomplices, targeted individuals they believed to be pedophiles or otherwise undesirable. The bodies of the victims were discovered in barrels stored in an abandoned bank vault in the town of Snowtown, South Australia, in 1999.
The investigation revealed a total of 12 victims, and the case became one of the most notorious in Australian criminal history. The trial of the perpetrators highlighted issues of mental health and social dysfunction, leading to widespread media coverage and public interest in the case.
