Snowtown Murders
The Snowtown Murders refer to a series of gruesome killings that took place in Australia during the 1990s. The crimes were primarily committed by a group led by John Bunting, who targeted individuals they believed were pedophiles or otherwise undesirable. The bodies of the victims were discovered in barrels stored in an abandoned bank vault in the town of Snowtown, South Australia, in 1999.
The case shocked the nation and led to a high-profile trial. In 2003, Bunting and several accomplices were convicted of multiple murders, receiving lengthy prison sentences. The Snowtown Murders remain one of the most notorious criminal cases in Australian history.
