Snake Behavior
Snakes are primarily solitary creatures, often found basking in the sun or hiding in burrows and under rocks. They use their keen sense of smell, aided by their forked tongues, to detect prey and navigate their environment. Most snakes are non-aggressive and will avoid confrontation, relying on camouflage to escape predators.
When threatened, snakes may exhibit defensive behaviors such as hissing, coiling, or striking. Some species, like the rattlesnake, use a warning rattle to deter potential threats. Snakes are also known for their unique method of locomotion, which includes slithering, sidewinding, and climbing, depending on their habitat.
