Slow Worm
The Slow Worm is a legless lizard found in Europe and parts of Asia. Despite its snake-like appearance, it is not a snake but belongs to the family Anguidae. Slow worms can grow up to 50 cm long and have smooth, shiny scales that can be brown, grey, or golden in color. They are often mistaken for snakes due to their elongated bodies.
Slow worms are primarily found in gardens, grasslands, and woodlands, where they prefer damp environments. They feed on small invertebrates, such as slugs and worms. Slow worms are known for their ability to regenerate their tails if lost, a trait they share with some other lizards.
