European Adder
The European Adder, also known as Vipera berus, is a venomous snake found across Europe and parts of Asia. It typically inhabits a variety of environments, including forests, grasslands, and wetlands. The snake is recognizable by its distinctive zigzag pattern along its back, which can vary in color from brown to gray or black.
European Adders are relatively small, usually measuring between 60 to 90 centimeters in length. They are known for their ambush hunting style, preying on small mammals, birds, and amphibians. While their venom can be harmful, bites to humans are rare and rarely fatal, making them an important part of their ecosystem.
