Sledge Hockey
Sledge hockey is a team sport designed for athletes with physical disabilities, allowing them to compete on ice using sledges. Players sit on a specially designed sled that has two blades underneath, enabling them to glide across the ice. Each player uses two sticks, which have a blade on one end for puck handling and a spike on the other for propulsion.
The game follows similar rules to ice hockey, with two teams competing to score goals. Sledge hockey is played internationally and is governed by the International Paralympic Committee. It promotes inclusivity and showcases the skills and determination of its athletes.
