Skellig Islands
The Skellig Islands are two small islands located off the southwestern coast of Ireland, in the Atlantic Ocean. The larger island, Skellig Michael, is known for its ancient monastic settlement, which dates back to the 6th century. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features beehive-shaped stone huts and a series of steep steps leading to a stunning viewpoint.
The smaller island, Little Skellig, is primarily a bird sanctuary, home to thousands of gannets and other seabirds. Both islands are accessible by boat and are popular destinations for tourists interested in history, wildlife, and breathtaking coastal scenery.
