Skaftafell National Park
Skaftafell National Park is located in Iceland and is part of the larger Vatnajökull National Park. It is known for its stunning landscapes, including glaciers, waterfalls, and diverse vegetation. The park offers various hiking trails, allowing visitors to explore its natural beauty and unique geological features.
Established in 1967, Skaftafell was initially a nature reserve before becoming a national park in 2008. The park is home to the famous Svartifoss, a waterfall surrounded by dark basalt columns, and provides access to the Vatnajökull glacier, one of the largest glaciers in Europe.
