Sizewell A
Sizewell A is a decommissioned nuclear power station located on the Suffolk coast in England. It was commissioned in 1966 and operated until 2006, generating electricity for over 40 years. The facility consisted of two Magnox reactors, which were among the first generation of nuclear reactors used in the UK.
After its closure, Sizewell A underwent a process of decommissioning, which involves safely dismantling the plant and managing radioactive materials. The site is now monitored and maintained, with plans for future redevelopment as part of the broader Sizewell energy complex, which includes the operational Sizewell B and the proposed Sizewell C nuclear power stations.
