Six Days of Shawwal
The "Six Days of Shawwal" refers to the six days of fasting that Muslims can observe after the month of Ramadan. These fasts are recommended to be completed in the month of Shawwal, which is the month following Ramadan in the Islamic lunar calendar. Observing these fasts is believed to bring additional rewards and blessings, as it is said that fasting during these days can be equivalent to fasting for an entire year.
The practice is based on a saying of the Prophet Muhammad, who stated that whoever fasts during Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal will receive the reward of fasting for a whole year. These fasts can be observed on any six days of Shawwal, but it is encouraged to do so consecutively or spread throughout the month.
