Sit-and-Reach Test
The Sit-and-Reach Test is a common flexibility assessment used to measure the flexibility of the lower back and hamstring muscles. Participants sit on the floor with their legs extended straight ahead and feet against a box or measuring device. They then reach forward as far as possible, holding the position for a moment to record the distance reached.
This test is often included in physical fitness assessments and is a simple way to evaluate overall flexibility. It is particularly useful for identifying potential tightness in the hamstrings and lower back, which can impact athletic performance and daily activities.
